List of MSN Gaming Zone Backgammon Cheaters

Figured I’d compile this list after seeing several cheaters that exploit the “repeated-undo stall/timeout” bug. Hopefully this list will help legitimate players safely quit the game before entering a match with these sociopaths. Don’t know why these cheaters spend so much time on such fruitless (and mindless) idiocy when they could instead devote their efforts to learning how to play properly. It becomes obviously fishy when these players rated 2000 and higher play so poorly … you can smell the undo-stall cheat coming from a mile.

    2. It is obvious that when playing backgammon against the computer that it is rigged, once you get in the 1900 win range the computer dictates you will not go much higher , the game is rigged, DISGUSTING

  2. I am going after these guys and trying to cheat them first. But I so far haven’t been able to do it. I’ve moved the pieces back and forth and back 1, 3, 5, indefinite times, without being able to time my (cheating, score above 2300) opponent out. Yet they can do it to me. What gives? Can anyone tell me the trick?

  3. Is this cheat technique only possible if the honest player clicks Yes on the the “Stalling Player Detected” button? I’ve been on the receiving end of this cheat many times, always after clicking yes.

    However, I just now played with a suspected cheater, and sure enough he began stalling (Length_Axis is the player). This time, I didn’t click Yes, just let the game wait. He’s not been able to enforce any sort of cheating action. I did submit an email and screenshot (complete with abusive language) to Zmaster@microsoft.com.

    Actually, the game is still going – gonna see how long the fool hangs in there. Maybe after awhile I go ahead and click the “Stalling Player” button and see if he’s caught napping…

I would like to post hee for all those abused by other players.I take screenshots using Microsoft’s snipping tool (Windows Vista).So far I have reported 4 players to Zmaster@microsoft.com.I have received replies on all 4 reports and was assured they will be banned.It was surprising to me that the last one had over 15000 games.Maybe it was hacked I don’t know.

  10. Stalls reversing turn of play,
    opponents nickname does not appear in chat box,
    no change to rating when above mentioned quit,
    Why not a cheats league, they can vie for a tossers trophy.
    Stalls causing game to crash, but no notification of general error, just blue screen.

    or players who click on advertisements and make purchase are given privileges,
    I’m no IT guru, but something seems wrong.
    Of course no one admits to being a cheat.

  30. All day its the cheaters …pausing and stalling….bearguy even admitted it and told me…if u r not cheatin’, u r not even tryin.
    I dont know what or how and mostly i dont know why….these people lower the standard of the entire world…..watch out for guest…4000 games…..he opened with ” i will f your kids and f your mom and f your family.
    Sublethal twin is another fouled moth cheat….its about time MSN had a backgammon cheat bot….alert, alert, the ass you are playing is cheating….i wonder how many players would be left.

  61. I shared the above list under the nickname “Secret” so I can remain kind of stealthy; it only goes back 5 years – since 2010, but it might help corroborate other people’s observations. Unlike other players I have video recorded most of the above cheaters throughout the entire game (not just a screen shot) and in many instances the same offender more than once on the same date. Many of the offenders are not just cheaters but plainly “nasty” people. I am certain that some of the above offenders will probably be the same person using a different nickname; there will never be justice for the frustration they have caused! Although thankful for having a site with “free games” I cannot help but observe that tech support on the Zone and specifically on Backgammon is non-existent. Anyone who clicks under help will get some “canned” response regarding an error, i.e. “open ports”, with no further assistance; this is frustrating! The site is not flawless and there are a number of usual disconnect errors for no apparent reason. I have noticed this by being logged in different computers and from different locations. In fact, the server in use (and I assume there is more than one) does not always keep track of wins or loses; some of you might have already tallied your totals to verify. The bottom line is that Microsoft would not allocate resources to correct issues for “free” games. As far as I am concerned reporting to Zone Master has been proven useless. Cheating has been going on for years with no intervention; it is a shame! Out of curiosity and anger I spent long hours to research the internet and was able to successfully duplicate one of the cheats. Now, why am I sharing all this? To simply verify that there are inherent weaknesses with the design of the game. The game needs to be redesigned (to possibly not penalize those who get unintentionally disconnected or those who obviously are winning based on the number of remaining pips, etc, etc.). I as well have had all these experiences and more playing thousands of games over the last year or more.I have documented hundreds of players with screen shots and video and think it’s time for an updated list of cheaters and their various abilities.I do think that this is a smaller group of players playing under many different names.

  64. What the hell is going on with backgammon?. For more than a month is failure and no records when you play, IF is it POSSIBLE to play AT ALL
